Un villancico contemporáneo, de John Lennon, interpretado por los Corrs: Happy Christmas (War is over). Es decir, Feliz Navidad (La guerra ha terminado). [Debajo podéis encontrar la letra original.] En plena guerra de Vietnam, en 1969, John Lennon y Yoko Ono felicitaron las Navidades al mundo con vallas en las principales calles de Nueva York, Londres, Tokyo, Roma… con el mensaje: War is over. If you want it. (La guerra ha terminado. Si tú quieres).

Hoy sigue habiendo guerras por todo el mundo, pueblos sojuzgados, opositores en las cárceles, violencia de todo tipo… Palestina, el Sáhara Occidental, Irak, Afganistán… y tantos otros conflictos, lejanos o cercanos. Quizá por eso esta familia irlandesa, los Corrs, cantaron esta canción en la Casa Blanca hace unos años. Este año es mi forma de deciros…
